Actress Dixie Carter passed away this morning at the age of 70. She is best remembered as Julia Sugarbaker on the hit CBS show "Designing Women," as well as the first Maggie McKinney on "Diff'rent Strokes" (she left the show when it was originally cancelled by NBC in 1985 and was replaced when it was given new life on ABC). In recent years she had continued to act, most notably guest starring roles on shows such as "Law & Order: SVU," "Hope & Faith," and a seven episode story arc on "Desperate Housewives" in 2006-2007.
